Erik Johnson, founder of Penny Patrol, is a 20-year business veteran and multi-specialty tax and accounting expert. He has provided fractional CFO and controllership services, signed hundreds of tax returns, performed valuations, led audits, testified as an expert, and represented taxpayers before the IRS and state agencies. He also served as treasurer of Civics First for over a decade.
After graduating from the University of Connecticut, Erik built his career in public accounting, rising from associate to partner while working with closely held businesses. He later managed taxes for a high-net-worth family office, advising on real estate, hospitality, and generational wealth planning. In 2022, Erik and Matt founded Penny Patrol, combining their complementary skills. Erik is passionate about guiding businesses and families with clarity, strategy, and trusted advice.
